ZR-1 Corvette
Marathon Champion of the Century

I'm currently restoring this ZR-1 after it had been in storage for a couple years by the previous owner.  Even with a couple mechanical problems due to the storage this has been and incredibly fun car to drive and work on.  I was looking at Collector's Edition C4's, Grand Sports and C5's but when I came across this one I remembered the excited lunch time conversations in high school when the ZR-1 was under development.  Back then I never could have imagined what it would be like to drive a machine like this!  So...I placed a bid fully expecting to lose and a few weeks later it showed up on a flatbed!

I've made numerous minor interior repairs and replaced the carpet.   Almost an entirely new interior.  Also had some typical work done on  the fuel system.  Replaced both fuel pumps, upgraded to RC injectors and replaced a couple bad coil packs.  She runs great now!   I replaced the original fan style rims with aftermarket reproductions of the later model ZR-1 five star rims in polished aluminum.    Of course I kept the original rims and hope to have them refinished once the car itself is all restored.  Next, I installed a brand new ZF-6 transmission (Chevy ZR-1 OEM equipment) since the synchros were bad in original.  Also installed a new clutch kit, clutch master and slave cylinders.   While installing the transmission, I found the exhaust was in need of repair!  That just forced me to order the Corsa Power-Pulse RSC cat-back system I wanted.  Check out the video on the Photos page!

Many thanks goes out to folks who've given me tons of valuable advise and helped with parts;  the Gate City Corvette Club of NH and ZR1NetRegistry.com.
